Tour: 15 day motorcycle tour of Turkey.

Date: Tour operates from Saturday 3 September to Saturday 17 September 2011.

Distance: Approx. 1,800 miles/2,900 km.

Destination: The tour starts and finishes in Istanbul. Take your own bike or take advantage of numerous flight options ranging from Easyjet budget flights to BA business class and hire a bike on arrival.

Price: From £1500 per person own bike option. From £2500 including bike hire *not including flights.

Motorcycles: The latest BMW F650GS (800 cc) and R1200 GS motorbikes are at our disposal.

Group: Min 10 plus tour leader, support vehicle and driver.

Hotels: 3* & 4* hotels for 14 nights.

Tour Route: This is a motorcycle road tour of Western and Central Turkey with time to enjoy the beautiful scenery, renowned Turkish hospitality and delicious cuisine. Road conditions are generally good and the ride encompasses fast ‘A’ roads, quiet rural back roads and mountain passes. The journey takes you inland to the volcanic landscapes of Cappadocia, through the Taurus Mountains and along the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, stopping along the way at ancient sites and coastal towns.

Leave Istanbul’s bazaars and minarets to ride east to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Safranbolu where we overnight at a restored Ottoman caravanserai before heading to the central Anatolian plains and the lunar landscapes of Cappadocia. Explore underground cities and churches cut into the rock face. Ride south to Konya, home of the Whirling Dervishes, and then cross the Taurus Mountains and on to the Turquoise coast. Spend a night on the tiny island of Kekova taking a boat ride to see the submerged city of ancient Simena. At Bodrum, relax on the beach or try the variety of water sports on offer. The lively waterfront is dotted with restaurants and bars. On the Aegean coast visit the magnificent Roman city of Ephesus, the legendary city of Troy and cross the Dardanelles to Gallipoli returning to Istanbul for a farewell meal and a cruise along the Bosporus.
